St Thomas' Church Philadelphia

Serving Vulnerable People

Restore’ is the collective name given to the ministries and projects based out of St Thomas' Philadelphia and King's Centre that are reaching out to the marginalised and disadvantaged of our city.

Our Vision

Our vision is to take the power of God’s love to the very edges of society and bring people into the heart of God’s family. This means reaching out to the poor and the marginalised of our city including the homeless, those with addictions and wide spectrum of vulnerable people needing support and a practical demonstration of God’s love and provision.  We are committed to a holistic approach meeting practical, social, spiritual and emotional needs.

As a church, we are passionate about our city; the citizens, communities and environment.

We are committed to serving and working towards a regenerated, healthy, prosperous city with strong tolerant communities, in which there is freedom from addiction, crime and family breakdown, as well as opportunities for people to choose to follow Jesus.

Over the past decade, the church has been active within the voluntary sector providing basic services such as food, clothes, warmth, friendship and prayer for vulnerable people and families, including those with substance misuse problems, rough sleepers, ex-offenders, asylum seekers, street sex workers and those with mental health problems. Part of this vision is to offer a holistic programme of care for vulnerable people, so that from the first point of contact, we can offer opportunities to support and improve people’s life chances and potential.

At these weekly ministries we aim to offer varying degrees of food, warmth, friendship, education, life skills, work skills, healthcare, art therapy, prayer, worship and mentoring as appropriate.

Our projects

The number of projects we have operating across the city currently stands at fifteen. This is increasing all the time as we encounter new opportunities to reach out and support the changing needs of the city and our communities.

Our team

Restore ministries is led by Andy Niblock who oversees a large team of committed volunteer project leaders and team members that run the weekly projects.
