Our Communities

Abiding

We want to create a place of belonging for those who are going through hard times and dealing with issues in their lives and who value friendship and support while they do so, with God. 

Abiding is led by Julie Smethurst & Hazel Nash.

The Abbey

The Abbey takes inspiration from monastic communities that have come before us; learning from their purpose, their rhythms of life and their values.

The Abbey is led by Nathan and Sarah Cooper, Pete Holt, Jo Dring, and Ian and Wendy Mitchell.

Activate

Activate is a cluster which has stepped out into the world. The objective is not to get people into "church" but to get "church" which is us, mixing with people in whatever they enjoy doing.  

Activate is led by Rachel & Andy Marshall and meets all over the city.

Acts

Our covenant is to be a radical community of disciples of Jesus Christ; living in the power of the Holy Spirit and celebrating the love and joy of our Heavenly Father in our everyday lives. 

Acts is led by Kris & Verity Barry and Rob & Katie Copeland and is based in Hillsborough.

Amigos

A group of 30-something professionals who meet weekly to help each other grow in our relationship with God, build community with each other and support one another's callings to the workplace, communities and families. 

Amigos is led by Helen Simpson and Lou & John Rainford and is based in Hillsborough.

As You Are

A community for people with disabilities and their friends and families– that they would know God’s love for them & be part of a supportive community.  

As You Are is led by Mark Nicholson and is based in Crookes.

City HOTS (Healing on the Streets)

Our vision is to see Sheffield saved! To enable everyday people to have a relationship with God for themselves and encourage all Christians to step in to the call to heal people is Jesus name.

City HOTS is led by Roger & Linda Stone and is based in Grenoside.

Credo

A group of adults who work in different sectors across the city, living in the west of Sheffield. We support each other as we reveal Jesus to those around us and are also passionate about social justice.  

Led by Nicola & Jonathan Le Vallois and is based in Crookes.

Crux

Crux is a group committed to being family, being real, being Christ to our friends and neighbours in Lydgate and Crosspool.

Crux is led by Brian & Amanda Gooch.

DNA

DNA  meet in various homes as a mixed group of people of all ages.  Our aim is to love, encourage, challenge and support each other in our walk with God and to be a group where people feel they belong.  

DNA is led by Di Harrison & Ann Collins.

Edge

We are a group committed to praying for each other for physical and emotional healing. We also aim to sharpen each other for mission in the workplace. 

Edge is led by Chris & Helen Cotton.

Emerge

Plunge into his promises and EMERGE transformed. We are a community of people putting God’s word into action, being the hands and feet of Jesus and telling others how much the Father loves them, especially focused in Barnsley. 

Emerge is led by Harry & Marie Sampson and meets in Barnsley.

Emmaus

We are walking with each other, supporting each other in life’s ups and downs. 

Emmaus is led by Sam & Nick Parker.

En Ghedi

A young adult community based in Walkley. 

En Ghedi is led by Dan & Sarah Brown.

Farsi Speaking Community

A community for Farsi speakers based in Sheffield.  

The Farsi Community is led by Karim & Azam Novi and meets across the city.

FC Philly

FC Philly is a Christian football team.  We are committed to living God’s values both on and off the pitch regardless of what we believe.  

FC Philly is led by James Smedley.

Hilltop

A young adult community with adesire to make Jesus fully known in our own hearts and the hearts of those we encounter in in our local community.

Hilltop is led by Lizzie Atkinson & Sarah Walker and is based in Hillsborough.

Home From Home

We are an extended family, young and old, seeking to grow deeper together in our relationship with Father God and each other. Our mission, as we grow in this family of God, is to provide a home for people who live outside of Sheffield (ie international students, working professionals, asylum seekers etc)

Home from Home is led by Chris & Susan Yap.

Inspire

We are a small creative community with heart to serve the central church in prayer ministry and service. 

Led by Sarah Onyon & Nadine Kay.

Launchpad

Launchpad offers fellowship and insight, helping each other to draw on Jesus for rest, inspiration and guidance to prepare us for the works God wants us to do. The group’s aim is to give mutual support for a season.

Launchpad is led by Stephen & Teresa Witt.

Oikos

A community of students, young adults and families living life together.

Oikos is led by Simon & Sarah Nicholson and Neill & Lorna Birchenall.

The Shire

A community who want to love and be part of the life of Shiregreen.  The name Shiregreen means ‘the growing kingdom’ and that’s what we want to see and be part of! 

The Shire is led by Charlotte & Robin Codina and Rachel & Sam Nunn and is based in Shiregreen.

Steve and Di's Community

We meet regularly together on Wednesday night.  

Led by Steve & Di Lee and based in Crookes.

Streetwise

Streetwise is an informal church service for people who are homeless and disadvantaged or not used to going to church. They meet every Sunday at 11am in the Training Centre on the Philadelphia campus. The service has great worship, simple teaching and testimonies.  

Streetwise is led by Danny Wilson.

this, that and the other

this, that and the other have a variety of weekly and monthly meetups, evening small groups, daytime small group and a small group called wild geese based in Gleadless. We regularly meet for Saturday brunch, eating out, watching films and making things.

this, that and the other aims to encourage and support people wherever they live across the city through friends, family, activities and food. 

this, that and the other is led by Rob & Bek Yip and is based in Gleadless.

United

A group of young professionals living life together, committed to seeing our friends come to know Jesus. 

United is led by Beth & Josh Cutting.
