Families

Forge Families is the area at St Thomas’ which provides support for families both at the church and in the community. We are part of a network within the church called Forge which is made up of families work, kids work and youth work. Forge Families are excited about how each area can link together to make life better for kids and parents. 

 

We know that for everyone family plays a part in life, whether it’s a positive or negative. Families can have 2 parents and 2 children or something quite different. It’s significant for the present because it’s where learning is coming from, for the future because it is a place of love and security from which we are being launched or because it is a new thing that we are making for ourselves. Families have a massive impact on everyone’s lives.

 

We believe that God designed families to have a very specific job, to teach and support each other in life and that means not just parent to child but vice versa too!

Forge Families is led by Becky Howden.  Becky is married to Phil and they have 2 children - Sophie and Jacob. They live in Hillsborough and love being outdoors, visiting friends and family around the country and watching films all together.
