Testimony

Here are some recent testimonies of what God has been doing in and through our communities. Testimony is a great way to build up and encourage each other, so if anything to celebrate has happened in your community (new people coming, healing, people becoming Christians ...) please let us know!

Jo MacInnes - Discover:

“It has been fantastic to see the depths and vulnerability of relationship that has been built up so quickly. Our wedding was also a real opener for conversation with all the non-Christians in my office and it’s exciting to see that people are asking questions about God.”

Coopers, Richardsons, Holts, Andrews:
“We’ve done some really exciting things together that challenge and stretch us as a community – A pilgrimage trip to Liverpool for haling prayer and perseverance in seeking healing; a Trying Times evening where we got prophetic words that really fitted for people; Adopt-a-missionary, where we had a great evening praying with a member of the Pioneer network and a prayer evening at St. Bart’s.”
Wayne Pemberton – Streetwise
“I moved to Sheffield 2 months ago and attended a Christian rehab where I became a Christian. I’d had tests which diagnosed me with cirrhosis of the liver ‘6 times abnormal’, as well as renal failure. I also stopped taking tablets for schizophrenia when I moved to Sheffield. I had prayer for healing twice, once at home and once at the evening gathering. A month after the previous tests, new results showed that my liver and kidney have been totally healed. The doctor was ‘totally shocked’ and said it would normally take years for organs to recover like that. I’ve also been totally fine without my tablets.”
Helen and Chris Cotton:
“Someone’s metatarsal got healed, someone’s ankle got healed, and there’s been growth in group relationships and lots of fun and laughter.”
Diane Kershaw – Roots and Wings:
“We recognise a change in culture amongst our neighbours – that we pray with so many of our neighbours and they expect that to be part of our relationship with us and are proactive in asking us to pray with and for them.”
Andy Niblock – Restore Ministries:
“In Restore we have recently stepped out and leased a property for the homeless and vulnerable in the S6 area. It’s been amazing to see God answer so many prayers and giving us favour with people. We now have 3 people living there. Thank God for a wonderful team also!”
Nicola and Jonathan LeVallois – Credo:
“Our group is great and really on board and able to encourage and lead each other on in Jesus. The share our vision even though we hadn’t stated what that was when we first started to lead the group. So a group formed with a common vision/values before we even stated them.”
Stephen Ward – Activate
“My work brings me into contact with different people every day/week. I have had several opportunities to share the good news and pray for folks, young and old. I prayed for a couple of people at the Cable Waterski in Rother Valley. I got a couple of High 5s for God. A week later I hurt my ankle and one of the fellas looked up and said ‘Oi! What he said last week for me ... but for him,’ followed by a big smile. Also, I am getting married on August 7th and the blessing of money and gifts we have seen has been amazing!”
Jodie Marshall – Express Arts:
“A strong small group of people, some of whom are on the edges and struggle to commit to church/groups. All committed and meeting regularly and exploring how they worship and engage with God.”

From Streetwise:

Danny and Louise Wilson were  excited to see 6 or 7 brand new people at Streetwise on Sunday, as well as the return of a number of others who have come along at one time or another, including a muslim man.  There were at least 25 non-regular faces there in all!  As Louise looked round the room she was also encouraged to see about 12 women, which is a significant answer to prayer as historically streetwise has only really attracted men.

Praise God for the fruitfulness of this ministry - please pray for extra portions of grace and wisdom for Louise and Danny as they disciple this large and growing community and look to raise team to support them in the work.

From Spirit Led Daily Bread:

Their community’s healing prayers on the street are still going really well.  Two weeks ago someone in their community had a word for a woman about a tooth infection and prayed for healing.  The woman’s tooth was painful but she didn’t know there was an infection there.  When she went to the dentist in the following few days he told her there had been an infection in her tooth but that is was now better. The woman came back the following Saturday and told the woman who had prayed for her that the word had been right and that her tooth had been healed!  Also, at the same time as praying for her tooth, the member of the community had prayed for the woman’s son, that he would get a job.  This prayer was also answered and the woman, who is not yet a Christian, had come back to tell them that her son had got a job within the week as well!

Praise God for testimonies like this one and all the other answered prayers that the team may never even hear about!
