Clusters: Roots
We are a community of young adults and young families who live all over the city. We feel called to be a community which is based at the minster centre at Philadelphia but we are involved in lots of areas all across Sheffield where we are living out the Kingdom of God and seeing the Good News of Jesus transform lives.
Our values are:
* Family...which means we share life with each other as nuclear and extended family, sacrifice time, possessions and energy for each other and help each other to grow as followers of Jesus.
*Transformation...which means we recognise that we all need to grow and change, and that God wants us to be free of the stuff that holds us. To do this we need to be prepared to challenge and accept each other as this happens.
* Missional...which means we want to see the good news of God’s kingdom spread as much as possible in Sheffield and wider. As a family we want to support everyone’s own individual areas of mission - sometimes this means we all get together to serve someone’s particular thing. We want to see people released and supported to be good news to the people God has called them to.
*Service...Roots is a minister missional community. This means we are called to be based in the church as a resource. We want to serve the church as we can by helping with set up and supporting church events.
*Fun...which means fun! Life wasn’t made to be boring....
